This super solid silver double pack playing card holder was made in Birmingham 1902 by the renowned Henry Matthews. It has very simple and elegant lines. The hinged domed cover opening to reveal a gilt interior divided in two to fit the pair of playing cards. The hinged cover with scroll thumb piece.
Fitted with two complete sets of cards.

This is a superb and very elegant Edwardian solid silver bridge box. Of plain rectangular form, the domed cover applied with the lettering "Bridge". The hinged front opens to reveal a gilt interior. Made by the reputed Stokes & Ireland and retailed by Sorley of Glasgow, silversmiths to his majesty the King. It has an excellent silver gauge, a testimony to its quality. The unusual hinged front opening and the elegance and simplicity of its design makes it a very desirable piece.

This wonderful green leather bridge box is mounted with embossed silver corners and silver lettering. It is dated Birmingham 1905 and bears the marks of the prolific Levi & Salaman. These type of playing card boxes, complete and in good condition, are rather scarce and this is a fabulous example.
The beautiful green leather is applied with the word Bridge in silver letters. The pierced and embossed corners with an initialled cartouche on one silde and and engraved with the date 28-2-07 on the other..
The steel clasp is fully functioning.
Additional front pocket and back sleeve.
Original leather and moire silk interior.
The box contains its original playing cards, a silver mounted scorer with original pencil.
